S = single-phase high-torque “ farm duty” TEFC. TECO's catalog lists synchronous 1800 RPM; distributors list rated speeds around 1725 — we confirm against your nameplate. 1/3–2 HP are 115/230V; 3 HP and up are 230V only.
3 HP and larger S-line motors are 230V only — no 115V tap. Construction is cast iron per the TECO catalog.
