A.O. Smith Motor Replacement

A.O. Smith pool and spa pump motors — the name pool techs search for. We quote A.O. Smith motors by total HP (THP), matched to your pump's frame.

One name, three labels

A.O. Smith Corporation sold its motor business (Electrical Products Company) to Regal Beloit in 2011; Regal Beloit merged with Rexnord in 2021 to form Regal Rexnord. Century is Regal Rexnord's aftermarket motor brand, and the identical stock numbers are sold as “A.O. Smith,” “A.O. Smith Century,” or “Century.” If your nameplate says A.O. Smith and the box says Century — or vice versa — it's the same motor, and our pages cross-link the identical numbers.

What we quote

We quote A.O. Smith pool and spa pump motors — the 56J threaded C-face motors for Hayward-style pumps, the 56Y square-flange motors for Pentair and Sta-Rite pumps, the Flex-48 thru-bolt motors, and condenser fan motors. Pool pros match total HP (THP = label HP × service factor), not label HP alone — and an up-rated motor must never replace a full-rated one of the same label HP. Every A.O. Smith model page carries the up-rated/full-rated explainer and the frame fitment notes for your pump.

How to get your quote

Send the A.O. Smith model or catalog number, the pump make and model, and the nameplate photo. We confirm THP, frame (56J / 56Y / 48Y), and shaft seal size before quoting — the seal gets replaced with every pool motor swap.
